Museum´s all over the world marked the International Women´s Day (IWD) 2017 in one way or another. In the USA, the whole of March is dedicated Women´s History Month.

On March 8th, the New York Historical Society opened a new, permanent gallery for Center for Women´s History, and march 11 over 80 cultural institutions participates in hosting the fourth annual Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, a collaborative project aiming to improve Wikipedia´s coverage of women artists. Another museum that engages with people from around the world is the The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA), Washington, DC, USA, can also be visited both in real life and online. Last year the museum launched a social media campaign for the Women´s History Month, challenging the public to name five women artists. It was a great success with participants from over 11.000 individuals and 22 countries. This year´s theme is a #5WomenArtists Scavenger Hunt, from their own online collection.
